Morocco Participates in International Forum on Future of the Mediterranean

Granada – Speaker of Morocco’s House of Representatives and Vice-President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean (AP-UpM) Rachid Talbi El Alami, is participating in an international forum on the future of the Mediterranean, held in Granada from April 2 to 4, as part of Spain’s presidency of the AP-UpM.

The forum’s main themes include migration movements, climate change, youth employment, and gender equality in the Mediterranean region.

On Wednesday, speakers and heads of delegation planted an olive tree native to their region in the Palace of Charles V, as part of the “Garden of Peace: the olive tree as a universal symbol of peace” initiative.

The first session of the forum will focus on the alliance of civilizations and regional stability.

The program also includes conferences analyzing common challenges in the Mediterranean, migration trends, climate change issues, youth employment, and gender equality.
