Jean-Noël Barrot, French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Receives His Moroccan Counterpart Nasser Bourita

A new momentum is reinforcing the Rabat–Paris axis. This Monday, the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, began a working visit to France at the invitation of his French counterpart, Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs. This high-level diplomatic meeting marks another key step in the ongoing strategic and exceptional partnership between the two countries.
This visit holds a highly symbolic dimension, as it falls within the framework of the implementation of the Reinforced Exceptional Partnership, established by the joint Declaration signed in Rabat on October 28, 2024, under the high guidance of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron.
A Shared Vision Anchored in Trust and Ambition
With this renewed momentum, Rabat and Paris reaffirm their shared commitment to embedding their cooperation within a renewed vision—one built on mutual trust, respect for reciprocal interests, and a common ambition for the future.
A Relationship Rooted in History, Oriented Toward the Future
For several decades, France and Morocco have maintained a deep diplomatic relationship, founded on strong human, cultural, economic, and strategic ties. This official visit further consolidates these historical foundations, projecting them into a new era of structured cooperation, particularly in key sectors such as energy transition, green economy, innovation, security cooperation, and youth mobility.
Under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Kingdom of Morocco has established itself as a major regional player—an advocate of stability, openness, and dialogue in a world undergoing profound transformation. France, recognizing this visionary stance, firmly aligns itself within a framework of strategic convergence with Morocco.
An Exemplary Partnership at the Heart of Global Challenges
Nasser Bourita’s visit to Paris constitutes a key milestone in the implementation of the pillars set forth in the October 2024 Declaration. It represents a moment of strong diplomacy, marked by sincere friendship and pragmatic efficiency. Discussions will focus particularly on coordinating efforts in Africa, and on cooperation in the fields of education, culture, security, and the humane management of migratory flows.
At a time when major geopolitical balances are being reshaped, the Franco-Moroccan relationship stands out more than ever as a pillar of stability and prosperity within the Euro-Mediterranean and African spheres.
