Morocco’s FM, Qatari Peer Discuss Enhanced Cooperation

Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita held talks here on Thursday with Sultan bin Saad bin Sultan Al Muraikhi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Member of the Council of Ministers of Qatar, currently on a working visit to the Kingdom
Discussions between the two officials focused on ways of bolstering and broadening relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the State of Qatar, in accordance with the High Guidelines of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and His brother the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, echoing the depth of the brotherly, historic and solid ties between the two countries.
On this occasion, the two parties expressed their satisfaction at the remarkable momentum recently imparted to bilateral cooperation, reflected by the exchange of visits between ministers and officials from various vital and high-priority sectors for both States.
During the meeting, Bourita reiterated Morocco’s gratitude for the brotherly State of Qatar’s firm and unwavering support for Moroccan Sahara, as well as its support for the Autonomy Initiative as the sole basis for resolving this regional dispute, within the framework of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The two sides then exchanged views on several regional and international issues, reaffirming Morocco and Qatar’s common and steadfast position with regard to Arab causes, notably the Palestinian cause.
They reaffirmed their support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, in particular their right to establish an independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Al-Quds as its capital, in accordance with the two-state solution, the relevant resolutions of international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative.
