Morocco, Spain Hold 11th Joint Military Commission Meeting

Morocco and Spain held the 11th meeting of their Joint Military Commission on Monday at the General Staff headquarters of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) in Rabat.
The meeting, convened under the high instructions of HM King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of Staff of the FAR, aimed to deepen dialogue and strengthen bilateral military cooperation between the two countries’ armed forces, the FAR General Staff said in a statement.
Delegations reviewed the results of the 2024/2025 program and discussed planned activities for 2026.
On this occasion, both sides praised the progress achieved and reaffirmed their shared commitment to further expanding military collaboration.
On the sidelines of the meeing, Lieutenant General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the FAR and Commander of the Southern Zone, met with Lieutenant General Fernando José Lopez Del Pozo, Director General of Defense Policy at Spain’s Ministry of Defense.
The two officials welcomed the level of cooperation reached and discussed regional security issues, emphasizing the importance of their partnership in promoting regional stability.
Military cooperation between Morocco and Spain focuses on training, expertise exchanges, official visits, and aquatic and aerial rescue exercises. Activities are scheduled annually by a joint commission that alternates its meetings between Rabat and Madrid.
