HM the King, Strong Advocate for South-South Cooperation – Burkinabe FM

His Majesty King Mohammed VI has always been a strong advocate for South-South cooperation, stated Burkina Faso’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation, and Burkinabe Nationals Abroad, Karamoko Jean Marie Traoré.
This has naturally been reflected through the Royal Initiative aimed at enabling Sahel countries’ access to the Atlantic Ocean, Traore told the press following the audience granted by His Majesty the King to the foreign ministers of the three countries of the Alliance of Sahel States (Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso).
“We had the great privilege of being received today by His Majesty the King, may God assist Him,” he said, noting that this Royal Audience was an opportunity to discuss cooperation between the Kingdom and the three countries, as well as the Alliance of Sahel States.
He added that the three ministers took the opportunity to benefit from His Majesty the King’s “wise advice.” They reiterated their Heads of State’s gratitude for “this extended hand in support of Africans.”
Furthermore, Traore said he was impressed by the love His Majesty the King has for Africa and Africans, His extensive knowledge of “our countries and the sub-region,” and His great willingness to co-build new relations with His African brothers.
He also mentioned having conveyed to the Sovereign the sentiments of friendship and brotherhood from the President of Faso, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré.
