Mali’s FM Extends Profound Gratitude to HM the King for Morocco’s Solidarity with Sahel States Alliance
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Mali, Abdoulaye Diop, on Monday extended his profound gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the Kingdom’s steadfast solidarity with the countries of the Alliance of Sahel States.
“We express our deep gratitude for being received by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to whom we conveyed the fraternal greetings and the sentiments of brotherhood, solidarity, and friendship from His brothers, Their Excellencies General Assimi Goïta, President of the Transition, Head of State of Mali and President of the Confederation of Sahel States, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, Faso’s President, Head of State, and General Abdouramane Tchiani, President of the Republic of Niger, Head of State,” Diop told the press following the audience granted by the Sovereign to the Foreign Ministers of the three Alliance countries.
The minister noted that the Royal Audience was also “an opportunity to express our positive appreciation of the friendly and cooperation relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and each of our countries individually, as well as with the Alliance of Sahel States — relations that are strengthening on a daily basis.”
“We also expressed our appreciation for the Royal Initiative aimed at enabling Atlantic Ocean access to our three countries, to diversify our access to the sea and to reinforce peace and security,” he emphasized.
The three ministers also conveyed to His Majesty the King “the appreciation” of their countries’ Heads of State regarding Morocco’s and its Sovereign’s consistent position towards the so-called transition countries, namely Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger, he underlined, welcoming the channels of dialogue maintained by the Kingdom in order to identify solutions and promote relations based on mutual respect with these countries.
“His Majesty the King reiterated the Kingdom of Morocco’s total readiness and His commitment to ensuring that cooperative relations can be strengthened and deepened with our countries,” Diop said, in the service of peace, security, and stability.
