22nd Birthday of HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, Happy Occasion Celebrated with Jubilation and Joy

Rabat - The Royal Family and the Moroccan people celebrate on Thursday the 22nd birthday of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, a joyful event that reflects, as usual, the real dimension of the Moroccan people's unwavering attachment to the Glorious Alaouite Throne, guarantor of the Kingdom's unity and stability.

This birthday recalls the blissful moments of Thursday May 8, 2003, when the Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery announced the blessed birth, at the Royal Palace in Rabat, of a son whom His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, has named Moulay El Hassan, in tribute to the memory of His August Grandfather, the late HM King Hassan II, may God have his soul in His holy mercy.

The celebration of HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan’s 22nd birthday thus renews the immutable attachment of Moroccans to the Glorious Alaouite Throne through the oath of allegiance uniting them to HM the King, Commander of the Faithful, defender of the faith and guarantor of the supreme interests of the Nation and its citizens.

This happy event is also an opportunity to look back on the main activities of HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, who on April 21 at Mechouar Stinia-Sahrij Souani in Meknes, chaired the opening ceremony of the 17th Moroccan International Agricultural Show, organized under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI under the theme “Agriculture and the Rural World: Water at the heart of sustainable development”.

Upon High Royal Instructions, HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and HRH Princess Lalla Khadija launched the nationwide “Ramadan 1446” operation on March 3, in the Bouregreg district (Youssoufia) in Rabat. The operation was initiated by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, benefiting one million households, or nearly 5 million people.

On November 21 last year, on the instructions of His Majesty the King, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince received in Casablanca the President of the People’s Republic of China, H.E. Xi Jinping, who paid a short visit to the Kingdom.

On October 5 of the same year, HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan chaired the final of the 7th edition of His Majesty King Mohammed VI Grand Prix of Tbourida at the Mohammed VI Exhibition Park, organized as part of the 15th edition of El Jadida’s Salon de Cheval (Horse Show).

On August 23, by order of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan received at the Royal Palace in Tetouan the Al-Quds children taking part in the 15th edition of the summer camps organized by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency.

On July 30, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan presided over a luncheon in Tetouan hosted by the Head of Government, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, to the Throne of His Glorious Ancestors.

The following day, by order of HM King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), His Royal Highness received a message of good wishes, loyalty and fidelity addressed to the Sovereign by the FAR family at the Royal Guard Officers’ Mess in Tetouan, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of HM the King’s accession to the Throne of His Glorious Ancestors.

On this occasion, HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan received the graduating majors of the major military and paramilitary schools and institutes, before presiding over a luncheon offered by HM the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the FAR, in honor of the personalities invited to the oath-taking ceremony of the late “HRH Princess Lalla Latifa” graduating class.

On June 10, HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan launched the construction of the Casablanca seawater desalination plant at the Lamharza Essahel Commune in the El Jadida province. This is the largest plant of its kind in Africa, with an annual production capacity of 300 million m3 and an estimated beneficiary population of 7.5 million.

Five days earlier, HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan had, on the High Instructions of HM King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the FAR, chaired the graduation ceremony of the 24th group of the Higher Defense Course and the 58th group of the General Staff Course at the Royal College of Higher Military Education (CREMS) in Kenitra.

On June 2, HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan chaired the final of the 23rd edition of the Hassan II Trophy for Traditional Equestrian Arts “Tbourida” at the Royal Complex for Equestrian Sports and Tbourida Dar Es Salam in Rabat, which is part of the Moroccan championship.

On May 14, His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, by order of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the FAR, chaired a luncheon at the Cercle Mess Officiers in Rabat, offered by His Majesty the King on the occasion of the 68th anniversary of the creation of the FAR.

On October 28, HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan was present, alongside HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, HRH Princess Lalla Khadija and HRH Princess Lalla Meryem, at the official welcoming ceremony, chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, of the President of the French Republic, H.E. Emmanuel Macron and his spouse Brigitte Macron, who were on a state visit to the Kingdom at the invitation of the Sovereign.

On the same day, HRH the Crown Prince took part in the signing ceremony of several agreements between the Kingdom of Morocco and the French Republic, presided over by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, who was also accompanied by HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, HRH Princess Lalla Khadija and HRH Princess Lalla Meryem, and the French President, HEM. Emmanuel Macron, who was accompanied by his wife Madame Brigitte Macron.

The following day, HM King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid and TRH Princesses Lalla Khadija, Lalla Meryem, Lalla Asmaa and Lalla Hasnaa, hosted an official dinner in honor of President of the French Republic, H.E. Emmanuel Macron and his spouse Brigitte Macron.

His Royal Highness also joined HM the King, Commander of the Faithful, at the religious vigil commemorating the blessed Laylat Al-Qadr and the Eid Al-Fitr prayer.

Each of HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan’s public appearances thus perpetuates a long tradition designed to initiate and familiarize the Crown Prince with the responsibilities he will be called upon to take on within a society that remains faithful to its values and its multifaceted identity.
