Morocco’s Islamic Affairs Minister Receives Saudi Peer
Rabat - Morocco's Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Ahmed Toufiq, held a meeting on Thursday in Rabat with Saudi Arabia's Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, Sheikh Abdullatif Bin Abdulaziz Bin Abdulrahman al-Sheikh.

The meeting focused on ways of strengthening cooperation between the two brotherly Kingdoms in the service of Islam and Muslims, and the means of combating hate speech, extremism and fanaticism, as well as promoting the values of moderation, balance and tolerance.
Speaking to the press following the meeting, the Saudi minister commended the efforts of the leaders of both countries, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, in support of Islam and Muslims.
He underscored both countries’ efforts to promote the principles of moderation, the middle ground, tolerance, and the rejection of extremism and fanaticism, adding that cooperation between the two ministries is not a recent occurrence but has existed for many years.
For his part, Toufiq said that the Saudi minister’s visit at the head of the delegation of Ulema was part of the exchange of visits between the two ministries, aiming to elevate their joint action to the level of the fraternal relations that unite the two Kingdoms.
He added that the meeting also provided an opportunity to convene on “an innovative approach to the Da’wa” in pace with current world events and meeting the aspirations of the Islamic Ummah.
The meeting was attended by Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Rabat, Sami bin Abdullah Al-Saleh, alongside a high-level delegation from the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance.
