Morocco Boosts Security with Drones and Surveillance Tech for Upcoming Sporting Events – Official
Highlighting the Kingdom's experience in hosting previous major international sporting events, Bouzidi, also Head of the sports security division at the Directorate General of National Security (DGSN), stressed that drones are at the heart of security surveillance, conforming to the Confederation of African Football and FIFA standards.

These drones, he explained, will play a central role in securing public space, monitoring and analyzing crowd movements with great precision, counting and identifying rioters and improving the security response on the ground through permanent surveillance and rapid intervention.
The official added that Morocco has all the capabilities to deal with cybercrime and other potential threats that could compromise the normal running of these sporting events.
With regard to security and logistical coordination, the official pointed out that the command and coordination room remains the central communication point between the various security teams.
These measures also include the use of surveillance cameras installed on roads and around stadiums to monitor any suspicious activity or unforeseen events, and ensure a rapid response by sending out emergency and rescue teams, he added.
In this regard, Bouzidi illustrated the authorities’ vision for crowd control inside and surrounding stadiums, to avoid flow overlap in walkways taken by public figures, journalists, supporters with special needs and teams.
Likewise, he reviewed the measures to be taken to secure the Fan Zones, as well as those to control the movement of supporters in different transport networks, particularly airports and transport stations in the Kingdom’s host cities.
Mouad Hajji, General Coordinator of the Moroccan Royal Football Federation (FRMF), said that the Federation pays particular attention to stadium security to provide a healthy and safe space for footballers, fans and all stakeholders.
He underlined the commitment of the FRMF, alongside the security authorities, to the establishment of an integrated system based on international standards, particularly with regard to the modernization of stadium security facilities, the generalization of electronic ticketing, the monitoring of entry and exit points and the numbering of seats.
