Momentum of Kenya–Morocco Ties Reflects Progress at All Levels – Govt. Head

Rabat - The momentum in relations between Kenya and Morocco reflects ongoing progress and enhanced cooperation across all levels, Government Head Aziz Akhannouch said Tuesday in Rabat.

During talks with the Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign & Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Kenya, Musalia Mudavadi, Akhannouch welcomed the positive trajectory of bilateral ties since the inauguration of President William Ruto in September 2022. He emphasized that “the strengthening of bilateral relations reflects meaningful developments and growing engagement at all levels,” according to a press release from the Department of the Head of Government.

For his part, Mudavadi reaffirmed his country’s commitment to deepening its partnership with Morocco under the enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI. He underscored that the opening of Kenya’s embassy in Rabat stands as a clear testament to the shared will of both nations to usher in a new chapter in their bilateral relations—especially as the two countries mark the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties this year.

In this context, the Kenyan official expressed his wish to visit several Moroccan cities to gain firsthand insight into their development momentum, highlighting Kenya’s readiness to expand cooperation and share expertise with Morocco across various sectors.

According to the same source, the meeting served as an opportunity to explore avenues for strengthening Morocco–Kenya cooperation, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI and President William Ruto.
