Astana International Forum 2025: Agreement Signed Between CGEM and the International Chamber of Commerce of Kazakhstan
The General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) and the International Chamber of Commerce of Kazakhstan (KAZCIC) recently signed a bilateral cooperation agreement during the Astana International Forum 2025.

The agreement was signed by Driss Benomar, President of CGEM’s Economic Intelligence Commission and Coordinator for relations with ASEAN countries (Association of Southeast Asian Nations), and Murat Karimsakov, Chairman of the Board of KAZCIC. According to a statement from CGEM, the agreement’s main objective is to establish a Morocco–Kazakhstan Business Council.
The aim is to facilitate reciprocal business visits, promote investment opportunities, market access, and direct relations between Moroccan and Kazakh companies. The agreement also seeks to identify strategic sectors for cooperation, including energy, mining, infrastructure, health, chemical and biotechnological industries, agriculture, digital technologies, logistics, and transportation.
According to the official document, both parties share a mutual interest in enhancing economic cooperation between Moroccan and Kazakh businesses by fostering the exchange of opportunities, investments, and business dialogue.
They also commit to identifying obstacles to bilateral trade and economic cooperation and to maintaining continuous dialogue with relevant authorities in both countries to provide recommendations for improving the business environment.
Furthermore, CGEM and KAZCIC express their commitment to promoting sustainable and inclusive economic development by creating a favorable framework for investment and innovation.
