A delegation from Morocco’s House of Councillors, led by its President Mr. Mohamed Ould Errachid, is taking part in the 16th Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly (EuroLat), which kicked off this Sunday in Lima, Peru.

The EuroLat Assembly is being held at the Peruvian Congress headquarters from June 1st to 3rd, bringing together 150 parliamentarians—75 from the European Parliament and 75 from Latin America and the Caribbean.
This year’s Assembly takes place in a challenging geopolitical context, emphasizing the need to strengthen the strategic bi-regional partnership between the European Union, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
Over the course of three days, committees, forums, and working groups will address major issues in EU–Latin American trade and economic relations. In addition, participants are expected to adopt a bi-regional pact covering crucial topics such as:
- Food security
- Health
- Clean energy
- Migration
- Organized crime
- Indigenous women
- The defense of international law
Alongside President Ould Errachid, the Moroccan delegation includes:
- Abdelkader Salama, First Vice-President and Morocco’s representative to the Andean Parliament
- Jawad Hilali, Third Vice-President and representative to the Parliament of Mercosur
- Mustapha Moucharik, Secretary of the House and representative to the Parliament of Mercosur

- Ahmed Lakhrif, representative to the Central American Parliament
- Abdelkader Kihel, member of the House of Councillors and Vice-President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean
