Operation Marhaba 2025: 520 Weekly Ferry Trips to Strengthen Maritime Transport Between Morocco and Southern Europe

The special maritime transport offer for passengers between Morocco and Southern Europe, as part of Operation "Marhaba 2025", will be reinforced with 520 weekly crossings to accommodate the expected travel flow during the summer season, said Mustapha Baitas, Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament and Government Spokesperson, on Thursday.

Responding to journalists’ questions following the Government Council, the minister emphasized that under Operation Marhaba 2025—organized under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI—the weekly transport capacity has been increased to 500,000 passengers and 130,000 vehicles.

In this context, Mr. Baitas announced the deployment of 29 vessels operated by seven shipping companies, ensuring 12 maritime routes between Moroccan ports and those in Italy, France, and Spain.

Efforts to ensure the success of this operation also include enhancing border security through upgraded control equipment and proximity assistance via 24 welcome centers18 in Morocco and 6 abroad—along with the mobilization of specialized medical teams stationed along roads and in rest areas, he added.

He also noted that consular services will, as usual, be fully operational on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays from June 15 to September 15.
