CAF Hails Morocco Women’s Team for Remarkable Transformation

Rabat - Thanks to the structural momentum provided by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), the women's national team has undergone a profound transformation, says Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Already finalists in the previous edition in 2022, the Atlas Lionesses have since confirmed their status as a rising force in African women’s football, notably reaching the Round of 16 at the most recent FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The governing body of African football has thus affirmed that the Atlas Lionesses, playing at home and in front of their fans, will be determined to shine during the upcoming Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), scheduled from July 5 to 26, “where they now carry the status of favorites.”

Morocco has been placed in Group A of the CAN (Morocco 2024), alongside Zambia, Senegal, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The matches of this edition will be held at the Larbi Zaouli and Père Jégo Stadiums in Casablanca, the Olympic Stadium in Rabat, El Bachir Stadium in Mohammedia, the Honor Stadium in Oujda, and the Municipal Stadium in Berkane.
