South Korean Giant Naver Puts Morocco at the Heart of the Global Digital Revolution with a Next-Generation AI Data Center

Located in a still-undisclosed area, the data center will be powered by 500 megawatts of renewable energy, embodying the fusion of technological innovation and sustainable development. Thanks to Morocco’s international connectivity and geographic proximity to Europe, this digital hub will be linked to major networks through submarine cables, ensuring smooth data flow with minimal latency.

The initiative is led by a consortium headed by Naver Cloud, with participation from Nexus Core Systems and Lloyds Capital. Nvidia, the global leader in high-performance computing solutions and AI-focused GPUs, will provide the technological backbone of the project. Energy supply will be managed by Taqa Morocco, a key player in the country’s energy strategy.

This location choice is no coincidence—it establishes Morocco as a credible and ambitious player in the global digital economy, on par with major data center hubs like Dublin, Frankfurt, and Dubai. By building its infrastructure in Morocco, Naver clearly signals its intention to diversify its international presence while committing to an environmentally responsible approach.

The Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform sees this investment as a growth catalyst for the country’s data economy, expected to generate thousands of skilled jobs, promote applied research, and strengthen the nation’s technological sovereignty.
