Morocco Gaming Expo 2025: Morocco Attracts Two Global Gaming Giants and Boosts Its Digital Influence
As part of the second edition of the Morocco Gaming Expo (MGE 2025), Minister of Culture, Youth, and Communication, Mehdi Bensaïd, led a series of strategic initiatives aimed at positioning the Kingdom as a key regional hub for creative and digital industries.
The highlight of the day was the official welcome of legendary Japanese designer Yoshiki Okamoto, guest of honor at the expo. A global icon, Okamoto is recognized as one of the pioneers of the video game industry, having left a lasting mark on the development of some of the most iconic and timeless games.
High-profile meetings and promising partnerships
On the sidelines of the exhibition, the minister held high-level meetings with investors and representatives from around thirty international companies, including from France, Germany, South Korea, and Japan. These productive discussions focused on investment opportunities, partnership models, and prospects for local training and video game production.
These efforts led to the announcement that two international companies will soon be establishing operations in Morocco:
- TA Publishing, an innovative company specializing in video game content publishing
- Gamearly, a platform dedicated to game development and talent support
Both companies have expressed their intention to settle in the Kingdom long-term, with projects centered on local production and the training of young Moroccan talent. Their arrival underscores Morocco’s growing appeal as a rising epicenter for digital industries in both Africa and the Arab world.

Held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, MGE 2025 affirms Morocco’s strategic vision to turn the video game sector into a powerful driver of economic, cultural, and technological development.
Running until July 6, the 2025 edition brings together international figures, promising Moroccan start-ups, and gaming enthusiasts. Workshops, conferences, e-sports competitions, and immersive spaces are energizing the event, in a vibrant atmosphere celebrating both innovation and creativity.
Thanks to its energy and its ability to bring together global industry players, Morocco Gaming Expo 2025 is establishing itself as an international crossroads for video gaming, positioning the Kingdom as a leading digital hub on the African continent.
