Danone Becomes Official Partner of CAF for AFCON 2025 and Women’s AFCON 2024
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and Danone Group signed a partnership agreement on Tuesday in Casablanca, naming Danone an Official Partner of the CAF TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Morocco 2025, and the CAF TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2024.

The agreement was signed by Danone Group CEO Antoine de Saint-Affrique and CAF Secretary General Véron Mosengo-Omba, in the presence of several football and nutrition officials. The goal of the partnership is to promote the benefits of healthy nutrition in connection with sports, especially among children and youth.
“The partnership we are signing today reflects Danone’s core mission: to unite nutrition and sport for healthier lives,” said de Saint-Affrique, adding that Danone will provide nutritious dairy products to over 10,000 volunteers, 5,000 journalists, and numerous officials throughout the tournaments. He noted that Danone products will also be available in stadiums and fan zones, “bringing quality nutrition closer to sporting action.”
He emphasized that this collaboration continues Danone’s long-standing commitment to supporting African youth, particularly through its involvement in the African Schools Programme. He called the partnership “the beginning of something bigger, where sport and nutrition combine to improve lives.”
CAF Secretary General Mosengo-Omba welcomed what he called “a meaningful partnership that goes beyond sport.”
“This collaboration with Danone reflects a conscious effort to promote health on a wide scale — through sport on one hand, and nutrition on the other,” said Mosengo-Omba. He highlighted that the agreement also represents “a vote of confidence in CAF’s approach to evolving African football, while ensuring that investments truly benefit the continent’s youth.”
The partnership reinforces a shared commitment by CAF and Danone to promote a sustainable development model built around the trio of nutrition, sport, and education, in service of Africa’s younger generations.
CAF leads the Pan-African Schools Programme, now the largest grassroots football initiative on the continent, engaging 1.9 million children across 48 countries. The programme focuses on three pillars: school competitions, capacity building (including young referees, reporters, and leaders), and community impact.
The new alliance with Danone will strengthen the second pillar by introducing educational content in African schools that combines balanced nutrition and regular physical activity — a natural link with the legacy of the Danone Nations Cup.
Globally, Danone employs over 90,000 people and has a portfolio of brands sold in more than 120 countries. In 2024, it reported revenues of €27.4 billion. Its “Renew” strategy aims to restore sustainable growth while advancing its nutritional, social, and environmental goals. The group also plans to achieve global B Corp™ certification by 2025, demonstrating that economic performance and positive impact can go hand in hand.
In Morocco, Centrale Danone relies on a network of 60,000 partner farmers, four factories, and over 75,000 points of sale to deliver on its mission to “bring health through food to as many people as possible.”
