Germany’s New Foreign Affairs Minister Praises Strong Collaboration with Morocco Across Key Sectors
Germany’s new Minister of Foreign Affairs, Johann David Wadephul, has praised the close cooperation between Berlin and Rabat in several fields, including economy, energy, and employment.

During a phone call on Monday with Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita — the first such conversation since Wadephul took office — both officials highlighted the excellence of bilateral ties between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Federal Republic of Germany. They reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening the positive momentum of their relationship.
Both ministers expressed a strong desire to deepen this partnership and elevate it into a forward-looking strategic alliance.
In this context, they confirmed their intention to continue the Strategic Dialogue established under the 2022 Rabat Joint Declaration, which the two countries co-chair on a regular and structured basis. The next session of this Dialogue will take place in Rabat.
Minister Wadephul also expressed his readiness to continue constructive collaboration with his Moroccan counterpart within the framework of this Strategic Dialogue.
The two sides further emphasized the importance of enhancing consultation and coordination on regional and international issues of common interest, especially those of strategic significance for both nations.
