Morocco & India, Key Partners for Sovereign, Sustainable African Development – Ambassador

New Delhi - Morocco and India have a vital role to play in driving development across the African continent through solid, credible, and sustainable tripartite partnerships, Ambassador of His Majesty the King to New Delhi Mohamed Maliki said on Thursday evening.

Speaking at an event organized by the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of South Asia (FCC) in the Indian capital, Maliki called for strengthened Morocco–India–Africa cooperation, particularly in strategic sectors such as technology transfer, productive investments, and funding high-impact infrastructure projects.

“Africa must be at the core of its own development, but it cannot achieve this without the support of reliable partners such as Morocco and India,” the ambassador emphasized, highlighting the complementarity between the two countries in supporting African ambitions.

Among the key sectors for this trilateral cooperation, the diplomat cited energy, underlining Morocco’s pioneering experience in renewable energies.

In this regard, he recalled that the Kingdom was one of the first African countries to invest massively in the sector, establishing itself today as a benchmark actor both regionally and globally.

Held under the theme ‘Building bridges and connecting continents’, this high-level meeting was attended by several figures from the diplomatic realm, including ambassadors from Arab, African and Asian countries, as well as representatives from the media, the business world and think tanks, to discuss the stakes of intercontinental cooperation.
