“Clean Summer 2025” Operation: Nabila Rmili Launches Ambitious Beach Revitalization Plan for Casablanca
On Saturday, July 12, 2025, Casablanca Mayor Nabila Rmili officially launched the “Clean Summer 2025” operation from the iconic Aïn Diab beach, joined by local associations, municipal officials, and many volunteers committed to protecting the coastline.

This environmental initiative, both symbolic and practical, aims to clean, reorganize, and secure Casablanca’s beaches during the busy summer season. It forms part of a broader vision for sustainable coastal management, in response to the growing challenges of seasonal overcrowding, pollution, and the unregulated use of beachfront areas.
A Proactive Approach for the Public Good
Through this campaign, Casablanca’s municipality aims to go well beyond simple beach cleaning. The goal is to implement a genuine strategy for coastal revitalization, based on equitable access to public spaces, environmental protection, and user safety.
In her opening speech, Nabila Rmili stressed the urgent need for balanced and responsible management of Casablanca’s beaches, particularly Aïn Diab, one of the most visited in the country. She emphasized that the city deserves clean, supervised, and accessible beaches for all, where order, cleanliness, and compliance with public space regulations are ensured.
Cleaner, Safer, Fairer Beaches
The operation includes:
- Daily reinforced cleaning teams throughout the season
- A review of commercial operating permits on the beaches to curb abuse and price inflation
- Installation of educational signage promoting coastal preservation
- Deployment of qualified seasonal lifeguards to handle emergencies and prevent drownings
- Increased monitoring in collaboration with local authorities and security services
A New Era for Casablanca’s Coastline
Through “Clean Summer 2025,” the city of Casablanca is sending a clear message: its beaches should not be left to disorder but reimagined as spaces for relaxation, spatial equity, and ecological citizenship.
The initiative reflects Mayor Rmili’s political will to transform the relationship between Casablancans and their coastline, by promoting responsible and inclusive practices for the benefit of all.
