Joint Organization of 2030 World Cup Provides Greater Visibility for Industrial Sectors – Minister

Rabat - Morocco’s joint organization of the 2030 FIFA World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal offers enhanced incentives for investment across various industrial sectors, emphasized Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, on Friday in Rabat.

“Today, this major unifying project is accelerating our investments, by offering greater visibility and strengthened incentives for investment in the different industrial sectors,” said Mezzour during the 8th edition of the Morocco Today Forum (MTF), held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

He noted that many sectors are likely to attract more investors, including construction and public works (BTP), railways, and the airport sector. According to the minister, these sectors are part of Morocco’s structured development process, which is increasingly characterized by sustained growth and a recognized position among the world’s most competitive economies.

The challenge, he added, is to make the 2030 World Cup a lasting lever for transformation, by mobilizing long-term investments that will allow Morocco to reach a significant milestone in its development, while also turning the event into a concrete driver for accelerating this dynamic. This momentum, he added, is backed by an efficient support and investment incentive system.

For his part, the President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), Chakib Alj, stated that the projects underway and the expected outcomes of the co-organization of the 2030 World Cup will help position Morocco as a key lever for the entire region.

Alj noted that the Moroccan private sector is therefore called upon to fully seize the opportunities offered by this major event, especially in the tourism, transport, and digital sectors.

In this regard, he stressed that the various sectoral federations are mobilized to ensure the participation of all businesses and to encourage the creation of new activities.
