Under HM the King’s Leadership, Morocco Occupies ‘Leading Position’ on Global Stage -Former Brazilian Pdt.

Brasília - The Kingdom of Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, "occupies a leading position on the international stage," said former Brazilian President Michel Temer.

In an interview with MAP on the occasion of the celebration of the Throne Day, Temer praised the progress achieved by the Kingdom since the Sovereign’s accession to the throne twenty-six years ago, emphasizing that Morocco has drawn from its rich past to build its present, while resolutely looking toward the future.

Highlighting the structural reforms undertaken by the Kingdom, the former Head of State underscored the spectacular development of infrastructure and Morocco’s bold investment in renewable energy “two fundamental pillars for any country.”

“Clearly, over the past twenty-six years, His Majesty the King has launched large-scale infrastructure projects and driven the energy transition,” he noted, stressing the special attention given by the Sovereign to the religious sphere, which he described as “a dynamic of particular importance.”

According to him, all these achievements are “remarkable and inspiring milestones” in a world where globalization makes mutual experiences increasingly enriching.

Referring to Morocco’s geostrategic role as a logistics and energy hub connecting Europe, Africa, and the Arab world, the former Brazilian President, an expert in international relations and a prominent figure in Latin American political dialogue, considered that “beyond its exceptional geographical position, it is also the Kingdom’s political role that facilitates these dynamics between the three regions.”

For Latin American countries, he added, Morocco, with its ancient culture, development, and modernization, represents “a privileged gateway to the African continent.”

Speaking about Moroccan-Brazilian relations, Temer observed “growing energy between our two countries, both economically and politically.”

“Today, international relations are primarily driven by trade, and in this regard, Brazil has a strong interest in developing flourishing exchanges with Morocco,” he added. However, he noted that this strategic partnership “should be constantly expanded and redefined for the benefit of both nations.”

Recalling the importance of South-South partnerships and multilateralism, he emphasized that regional cooperation in Africa, led by His Majesty the King, could serve as a point of convergence and strengthening of ties, not only among African countries but also with other regional blocs such as Mercosur and the European Union.
