Morocco, An Inspiration Across Africa and Beyond – UNCTAD SG
Geneva - The Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Rebeca Grynspan, praised Morocco's "remarkable" development journey, describing the Kingdom as a "beacon of progress" and an "inspiration across Africa and beyond."

In a video message marking the 26th anniversary of the enthronement of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Grynspan stated that this occasion “offers us a moment to reflect on Morocco’s remarkable journey of economic transformation.”
“Morocco has emerged as a beacon of economic transformation,” stressed the UN official, highlighting notable achievements such as the world-class Tanger Med port and the sustained expansion of renewable energy.
She emphasized that Morocco’s commitment to innovation and sustainable growth serves as an “inspiration,” commending an ambitious development vision that is tangibly improving citizens’ lives.
The UNCTAD Secretary-General also underscored the importance Morocco places on inclusive development, highlighting initiatives like the Morocco Jobs-Accelerator and the Forsa entrepreneurship program as tangible evidence of a deep commitment to youth empowerment and creating opportunities for all citizens.
“UNCTAD is very proud to have contributed to some of these initiatives,” she said, reaffirming her organization’s commitment to supporting Morocco’s development journey.
“Together, we will continue working to promote inclusive growth and support Morocco to ensure that economic progress reaches every Moroccan citizen,” Grynspan concluded, extending her warmest congratulations to His Majesty the King and the Moroccan people on the occasion of the Throne Day, as well as her best wishes for “continued progress and prosperity” in the years ahead.
