Morocco Offers ‘Stable & Promising’ Business Climate for Italian Businesses – Ambassador
Rome - Morocco offers a “stable and promising” business climate, supported by profound economic reforms and modern infrastructure, making the Kingdom a strategic platform for Italian businesses aiming to integrate dynamic markets, said Morocco’s ambassador to Italy, Youssef Balla.

“Morocco’s unique geographical position, at the crossroads of Africa, Europe and the Middle East, makes the Kingdom a strategic platform for Italian businesses aiming to integrate and stand out in these dynamic markets,” Balla said, on Tuesday in Rome, while speaking as a guest of honor for North Africa during the launch of the Business Diplomacy forum.
“We strongly encourage Italian businesses to explore Morocco’s numerous opportunities, mainly in high added value sectors,” the diplomat said, citing in this respect promising sectors such as renewables, the automotive industry, the agro-industry as well as tourism.
Balla also pointed out that Morocco grants utmost importance to strengthening its strategic ties with Italy, “a privileged partner in the Mediterranean,” recalling that the ties between the two countries “are not only economic, but historical, cultural and human.”
Centuries of exchange have forged mutual comprehension and a solid friendship between the two countries, he said, adding that bilateral ties are in continuous progress, as evidenced by the trade exchange figures.
“Italy is a leading trading partner for Morocco, and we have seen a significant increase in Italian direct investment in the Kingdom in various sectors, from the automotive industry to renewable energy, agriculture, and tourism,” Balla stressed, adding that beyond trade, bilateral and regional cooperation is based on concrete projects, of which the Mattei Plan is an excellent example.
For the ambassador, this Italian initiative, focused on a mutually beneficial partnership with African countries, perfectly illustrates the shared desire to integrate public and private efforts to build a prosperous and inclusive future.
“Morocco is a key player in this vision, and we are ready to work closely with Italy to achieve the objectives of this plan, particularly in terms of sustainable development, energy security, and vocational training,” he added.
