Defending Al-Quds & Palestinian Cause, Immutable Constant of Royal Diplomacy – Palestinian FM

Cairo - The defense of the Palestinian cause and the city of Al-Quds is an immutable constant of the diplomacy conducted by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, said Palestinian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Varsen Aghabekian Shahin.

In a statement to the press on the occasion of the glorious Throne Day celebrations, the Palestinian official said that His Majesty the King has consistently emphasized that Morocco’s support for the Palestinian cause and its defense of the Holy City are a constant feature of the Kingdom’s diplomacy and strategic fundamentals.

Faced with the current difficult and delicate situation surrounding the Palestinian cause, His Majesty the King expressed, in his 2024 Throne Speech, the Kingdom’s unwavering position in support of Palestinian rights, she recalled, affirming that this position is in line with the Royal Vision, which makes the Palestinian cause one of Morocco’s foreign policy priorities.

In addition to these political positions, Morocco provides multifaceted assistance to the Palestinians, particularly in the field of health, Shahin emphasized, citing the deployment of a Moroccan medical-surgical field hospital in the Gaza Strip.

The minister also recalled the deployment, on High Royal Instructions, of several humanitarian operations, including the sending of medical and food aid to the Palestinian people in Gaza, noting that the Bayt Mal Al-Qods Asharif Agency, the executive arm of the Al-Quds Committee chaired by His Majesty the King, has supervised the delivery of significant aid to the Palestinian people, particularly in Gaza, since the start of the Israeli aggression in October 2023.

This emergency humanitarian aid consisted of sending food, medicine, and medical equipment, as well as distributing thousands of hot meals and food baskets, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan, she added.

Shahin also highlighted the projects and initiatives launched by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency, including the program to care for orphaned and injured children, which has benefited hundreds of children.

In the field of education, the minister underlined the scholarships provided by the Agency to students at Al-Azhar University in Gaza, noting that the same university had received a distance learning platform package from the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency to ensure educational continuity.

The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency also continued to implement its development projects and cultural initiatives in Al-Quds and Gaza, with a total budget of over $2.2 million in the first half of 2025, demonstrating the Agency’s unwavering commitment to defending the Palestinian cause.
