Throne Day: HM the King Presides in Tetouan over Oath-taking Ceremony of Graduate Officers of Major Military & Paramilitary Schools

Tetouan - HM King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), may God Assist Him, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, presided over the oath-taking ceremony of officers who graduated from the major military and paramilitary institutes and schools, as well as officers from the ranks, on Thursday afternoon at the Mechouar Square in the Royal Palace of Tetouan, on the occasion of the celebration of the 26th anniversary of the Sovereign's accession to the Throne of His glorious Ancestors.

His Majesty the King has kindly named this graduating class after “Sultan Ahmed Al-Mansour Al-Dahbi.”

After saluting the national flag as the national anthem was playing, the Sovereign delivered the following address:

“Praise be to God,

May peace and blessings be upon the Prophet, His Kith and Kin

Honorable Officers,

As the Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, it gives me pleasure to preside over this ceremony, during which the officers who have graduated this year from various military and security academies will be taking the oath.

I should like to take this opportunity to commend the competence and capabilities of the various components of our military and security forces as they fulfill their national, social and humanitarian duties.

I have decided to name this year’s Group of Graduates after Sultan Ahmed Al-Mansour Al-Dahbi, one of Morocco’s great monarchs. His era was characterized by progress and stability across the country, as well as by openness to Africa south of the Sahara, and closer ties with Europe.

Therefore, do live up – may God protect you – to all this name stands for: namely a keen sense of patriotism, commitment to the nation’s sacred values, integrity, and discipline, while remaining loyal to your everlasting motto: “God, the Homeland, the King.”

Wassalamou alaikoum wa rahmatoullah wa barakatouh.”

After the oath-taking ceremony, HM the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces, accompanied by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, saluted the flags of the Royal Armed Forces, before reviewing the various detachments of graduating officers.

This year’s oath-taking ceremony includes the graduates of the 2025 graduating classes of the Active Officers’ Schools (the Royal Military Academy, the Royal Air School, the Royal Naval School, and the Royal School of Military Health Service) and Paramilitary Establishments (the Royal Institute of Territorial Administration, the Royal Institute of Police, the National School of Civil Protection, the Mohammedia School of Engineers, the National School of Forest Engineers, the Customs Training School, and the Mohammed VI International Civil Aviation Academy).

There are also the graduates from the Special Cycle, as well as the officers from the ranks appointed in 2024 and the remainders of previous graduating classes, from the Royal Armed Forces, the Royal Gendarmerie and the Auxiliary Forces.

On this occasion, HM the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the FAR, awarded stripes to newly promoted officers for the year 2025.

His Majesty the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the FAR, had previously received, on Tuesday at the Royal Palace in Tetouan, the Promotion Commission of Royal Armed Forces, Royal Gendarmerie, Royal Guard and Auxiliary Forces personnel.

During this audience, the Promotion Commission submitted to the High Royal Consideration the conclusions and results of the promotion process for officer and non-officer personnel for the year 2025.

His Majesty the King approved the promotion table of the Royal Armed Forces, Royal Gendarmerie, Royal Guard and Auxiliary Forces staff, and gave His High Instructions to convey His Congratulations to the newly promoted and to encourage them to persevere in the accomplishment of the noble assigned mission, faithful to the Sacred Motto: “God – the Homeland – the King.”

The oath-taking took place in the presence of the Head of Government, the Speakers of the two Houses of Parliament, Advisors to HM the King, members of the government, senior officers of the FAR General Staff, foreign military attachés in Rabat, and other civilian and military personalities.
