Morocco, Kenya Discuss Bolstering Economic, Commercial Ties
Rabat - Morocco's Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour met in Rabat on Tuesday with Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Kenya Musalia Mudavadi, to discuss ways of bolstering economic and trade relations between the two countries.


On this occasion, the two officials, who welcomed the “extremely positive” momentum of relations between Morocco and Kenya, particularly on the political front, also discussed ways of strengthening investment cooperation.
In a statement to the press, Mezzour highlighted the “multiple investment opportunities” offered by Kenya in several strategic sectors, including industry, agriculture, construction, financial services and tourism.
He also spoke of the aim of making economic relations “more balanced”, notably through increasing imports of Kenyan products to Morocco, citing tea and coffee as examples.
This approach, the Minister continued, is accompanied by a willingness to promote investments by Moroccan companies in Kenya, a country offering “extremely interesting opportunities”.
As part of the convergence between Morocco and Kenya, two countries eager to fully exploit their potential for economic and commercial cooperation, the meeting agreed on a work plan to intensify exchanges and relations between economic operators in the two countries, paving the way for a reinforced partnership in various sectors of activity.
