HRH Princess Lalla Hasnaa Takes Part in UN Ocean Conference as HM the King’s Representative
Nice, France - Her Royal Highness Princess Lalla Hasnaa, Representative of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, is taking part in the 3rd United Nations Ocean Conference, which opened in Nice, France on Monday.
Co-hosted by France and Costa Rica, the UN Ocean Conference runs through Friday, bringing together over 50 heads of state and government, along with more than 1,500 delegates from nearly 200 countries.
The conference’s inaugural session featured keynote speeches by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, French President Emmanuel Macron and Costa Rican President Rodrigo Chaves Robles.
Under the theme “Accelerating action and mobilizing all actors to conserve and sustainably use the ocean,” the Nice Conference will delve into several ocean-related issues, from sustainable fishing and marine pollution to interactions between climate and biodiversity.
