U.S. Congressman Joe Wilson: The Polisario is a Terrorist Militia Created and Instrumentalized by Algeria’s Military Regime

The mask has once again fallen on the true nature of the so-called “Polisario.” On Tuesday in New York, U.S. Congressman Joe Wilson openly denounced the separatist group, describing it as a terrorist organization that poses a serious threat to global peace and security.

In a strong statement to the international press, Congressman Wilson recalled that he had introduced bipartisan legislation in the U.S. Congress seeking to officially designate the “Polisario” as a foreign terrorist organization. This initiative, he stressed, reinforces the historical and political truth: the “Polisario” is nothing more than a destabilization tool created and sustained for the past half-century by Algeria’s military regime.

This regime, isolated on the international stage and unable to meet the legitimate aspirations of its own people, hides behind separatism to export its internal crises and spread chaos across the Maghreb and the Sahel. Algeria’s financing, arming, and indoctrination of the Polisario’s mercenaries, Congressman Wilson said, amount to a political and moral crime with heavy consequences for regional security.

His remarks echo the warnings of many observers and diplomatic circles who have long maintained that the Polisario, sponsored by Algiers, is a terrorist organization whose only aim is to undermine the stability of Morocco and the entire region.

In light of this reality, Congressman Wilson insisted that the international community must act decisively to put an end to this separatist farce and hold Algeria’s military regime accountable for its hostile actions and its backing of militias that pose a direct threat to world peace.
