Mexico: Mexican Minister of Economy Receives a CGEM Delegation
The Mexican Minister of Economy, Marcelo Ebrard, received a delegation from the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), led by its President Chakib Alj, during an official visit to Mexico from September 22 to 25.

The meeting, held in the presence of Morocco’s Ambassador to Mexico, Abdelfattah Lebbar, provided an opportunity to review the Kingdom’s progress in several economic sectors, including the automotive industry, aeronautics, renewable energies, agri-food and textiles, Mr. Alj stated in a declaration to MAP.
He also emphasized the foundations underpinning this dynamic of development, namely Morocco’s political, institutional and economic stability, as well as the reform efforts embodied in the adoption of the new Investment Charter and the creation of the Mohammed VI Fund for Investment.
Mr. Alj added that during the meeting, the Moroccan delegation also highlighted the major assets that make the Kingdom’s developed economic and industrial structure a strategic platform for Europe, Africa and the Arab world, while facilitating exchanges with the Americas.
In this context, both parties discussed opportunities for economic and trade integration between Morocco and Mexico, stressing the importance of capitalizing on their respective strategic positions and adapting to the current international economic and geopolitical environment that favors the diversification of partnerships, he noted.
He further underlined that the CGEM delegation’s visit to Mexico was fruitful, opening new prospects for the establishment of a strategic cooperation between the two countries in key sectors.
The visit also created a favorable framework for exploring opportunities of cooperation and partnership to strengthen economic and trade relations between Morocco and Mexico, through meetings with Mexican officials and business leaders, he added.
On this occasion, the CGEM signed a memorandum of understanding with the Confederation of Industrial Chambers of Mexico (CONCAMIN) and a cooperation agreement with the Mexican Business Coordinating Council (CCE), establishing the “Morocco-Mexico Economic Council.”
Organized in coordination with Morocco’s Embassy in Mexico, this visit aims to strengthen economic and trade relations between the two countries and to explore new opportunities for mutually beneficial investment and partnership.
