Al-Quds: Palestinian Civil Society Actors Praise the 2025 “Warm Winter” Initiative by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency

The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency has launched the “Warm Winter 2025” campaign to assist more than 5,000 underprivileged families across several neighborhoods and villages within the Governorate of Al-Quds.

Under the theme “Together, let’s bring warmth and hope,” this initiative—financed with the contribution of the Communal Council of Dakhla in Morocco’s southern provinces—represents a concrete act of solidarity with the residents of Al-Quds and local institutions that support vulnerable groups. The goal is to ease the hardships faced by Palestinian families living in precarious conditions.

Palestinian activist Nasser Kaous, a resident of the Old City of Al-Quds, stated that the campaign aims to “support marginalized families, especially those from the Old City and its surrounding areas,” emphasizing that local citizens and institutions deeply appreciate Morocco’s unwavering support, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, for the resilience of the Holy City’s inhabitants.

For her part, Dalal Lafi, president of the Emleson Women Association, said that the continued support provided by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency and the Kingdom of Morocco is “a vital pillar in strengthening the resilience of Al-Quds families, helping them cope with the difficult circumstances in the Holy City.” She added that this humanitarian and social assistance contributes to empowering poor families and orphans, while highlighting her association’s constant need for such aid to sustain its programs for orphans and needy families.

Similarly, Ilham Abdeljawad, president of the association On the Path of Charity We Move Forward, welcomed the Moroccan initiative, noting that “this humanitarian assistance has had a tangible impact on the living conditions of impoverished families in Al-Quds.” She added that the donation of clothing, blankets, and heating equipment during the cold season helps strengthen the families’ resilience and sense of security.

Abida Al Mudhaffar, president of the Rose of Al-Quds Association for Orphans and originally from Morocco’s city of Fez, expressed deep gratitude for the continued support of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency. She underlined that this aid “helps alleviate the suffering of orphans and people with special needs in the Holy City.” Her association currently supports around 170 orphans and children with disabilities, striving to assist these vulnerable groups despite difficult conditions.

In the same vein, Kotaiba Oudah, president of the Al-Bostan Association, emphasized that the agency’s humanitarian initiatives come at a critical time, as Al-Quds faces “real isolation and growing difficulties in the aftermath of the war.” He stressed the need to work together “with our Moroccan brothers to strengthen the resilience of the city’s inhabitants.”

Ilham Nouaman, president of the Women’s Association for Development and Empowerment, pointed out that this is the second round of aid her association has received this year from the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency. She noted that this ongoing support reflects “the depth of Moroccan solidarity with Al-Quds and its women’s and social institutions.”

Finally, Dalal Obeid, a resident of An-Nabi Samuel village, said the “Warm Winter 2025” campaign—through the distribution of clothing, blankets, and heating equipment—“strengthens the resilience of Al-Quds residents and rekindles their hope.” She added that the city’s inhabitants now look forward to these visits from Morocco, which bring “messages of hope, compassion, and solidarity.”

It is worth noting that the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency recently launched the 2025–2026 social and economic year in the Holy City, marking the start of a new series of development and solidarity programs.
