The Barid Al-Maghrib Group issues a commemorative stamp to mark the 80th Anniversary of the United Nations
Barid Al-Maghrib Group has issued a commemorative postage stamp, in partnership with the Office of the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Morocco (CINU), to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of the United Nations.

The unveiling ceremony took place on Friday in Rabat, in the presence of the Director General of Barid Al-Maghrib Group, Amin Benjelloun Touimi, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Morocco, Nathalie Fustier, as well as representatives from national ministries and institutions, the diplomatic corps, and UN system organizations based in Rabat.
Entitled “United Nations: 80 Years,” this commemorative stamp highlights the UN’s essential role through a symbolic design depicting its headquarters, the flags of member states, the official 80th anniversary logo combined with the UN emblem, and a world map illustrating the Organization’s universality.
Stylized silhouettes with raised arms symbolize the collective drive of peoples toward a future of peace, cooperation, and shared prosperity, echoing the slogan “Building Our Future Together.”
Through this issue, Barid Al-Maghrib reaffirms its commitment to honoring key moments in world history and the universal ideals of solidarity, peace, and development.
This commemoration continues a long-standing collaboration between Barid Al-Maghrib and the United Nations Information Centre, marked by numerous philatelic issues celebrating the anniversaries and milestones of the Organization, reflecting a lasting partnership dedicated to universal values.
On this occasion, Mr. Benjelloun Touimi paid tribute to the UN’s work, which since its founding has stood as a pillar of international dialogue, a key actor in sustainable development, and a beacon of hope for humanity.
“As a postal institution, through this commemorative stamp, we wish to mark this symbolic anniversary and recall the importance of the universal values that Morocco, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, continues to promote on the international stage,” he said.
He added that the commemorative stamp artistically illustrates the UN’s vital role and continues a series of philatelic issues celebrating various UN anniversaries between 1970 and 2020, reflecting Barid Al-Maghrib’s enduring mission to preserve and promote collective memory through philately.
For her part, Ms. Fustier expressed her deep gratitude to the Kingdom of Morocco for its steadfast commitment alongside the United Nations and sincere appreciation to Barid Al-Maghrib for issuing a commemorative stamp marking the UN’s 80th anniversary.
“Today, we celebrate 80 years of a simple and powerful idea: what no one can achieve alone becomes possible together. Let us stay the course,” she said.
The UN official also noted that this 80th anniversary holds particular resonance in Morocco, a country that will soon mark seven decades of meaningful and inspiring contributions to multilateralism — from peacekeeping and human rights to intercultural dialogue, the fight against hate speech, and climate action.
