Fouzi Lekjaa: “The success of AFCON 2025 in Morocco will be a victory for all of Africa”
The President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Fouzi Lekjaa, affirmed on Wednesday in Salé that the success of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations hosted by Morocco will above all be an African success, stressing that the Kingdom is placing this event within an ambitious and unifying continental vision.
Meeting at the Mohammed VI Football Complex with African ambassadors accredited to Morocco, and in the presence of representatives from the Ministry of the Interior and several competent authorities, Mr. Lekjaa, who also serves as President of the Local Organizing Committee, presented a detailed update on the ongoing preparations for hosting this historic edition.
A vision in line with the High Royal Guidelines
Fouzi Lekjaa recalled that Morocco is approaching the organization of AFCON 2025 with a comprehensive vision inspired by the High Guidelines of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him. This vision places the African dimension of the Kingdom at the heart of its action: a continuous commitment to bilateral cooperation, continental solidarity and co-development among African nations.
Creation of a dedicated unit to streamline African coordination
In an effort to strengthen coordination and facilitate all operations related to the competition, Lekjaa announced the establishment of a joint communication and coordination unit between the Local Organizing Committee and African diplomatic missions.
This structure will have the mission of:
- facilitating the movements of the teams,
- optimizing their accommodation,
- assisting the national squads in all logistical procedures.
An initiative that illustrates Morocco’s intention to place AFCON under the banner of excellence, fluidity and professionalism.
An event supported by an entire continent
The President of the FRMF reaffirmed that Morocco considers AFCON 2025 as a continental event before being a national one, and that the Kingdom is firmly committed to delivering a benchmark edition that reflects the ambitions of the African continent.

The African diplomats present expressed their great satisfaction with the progress of preparations. They praised:
- the perfect coordination between the various institutions,
- the quality of the Moroccan approach,
