Nasser Bourita Meets with a Delegation of U.S. Senators

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Living Abroad, Nasser Bourita, held talks this Monday in Rabat with a delegation of U.S. Senators composed of Senator Jerry Moran, Senator Susan Collins, Senator John Boozman, Senator John Cornyn, and Minority Secretary Robert Duncan, in the presence of the U.S. Ambassador to Morocco, Puneet Talwar.

In a statement following the discussions, Senator Jerry Moran (from the state of Kansas) highlighted the important role Morocco plays in promoting peace in the region and around the world.

“It is very important for the United States to have the closest and best relations with Morocco,” said the U.S. official, describing the Kingdom as a “provider” of stability and peace globally.

Mr. Moran also expressed his country’s “gratitude” for “the way Morocco operates in the world,” in its pursuit of “consensus to bring people together.”

He further called for strengthening cooperation with the Kingdom to “export Morocco’s model of stability to the rest of the world, particularly in Africa.”
