A true diplomatic thunderclap has just struck, this Friday, April 11, 2025, shaking the foundations of Algerian propaganda and its illegitimate offshoot, the Polisario. U.S. Congressman Joe Wilson, a respected figure in the Republican Party, announced on his X account his intention to introduce a bill in Congress aiming to designate the Polisario as a terrorist organization. This historic initiative lays bare, once and for all, the excesses of an armed group propped up by an Algerian regime devoid of legitimacy, vision—and most of all—morality.
These words toll like a bell for the Algerian regime, which for half a century has manipulated a fictitious cause with the sole aim of undermining the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco. In truth, this decaying regime has never cared about the fate of the Sahrawi population, whom it keeps confined in militarized camps in Tindouf—stripped of identity, of freedom, and above all, of voice.
Algeria’s Support for the Polisario: Terrorist Financing Exposed
The world can no longer turn a blind eye. The so-called “Polisario Front” is nothing more than an armed terrorist group, manipulated, funded, and trained by the Generals in Algiers, who use it as a geopolitical pawn to extend their decadent regime. Kidnappings, arms trafficking, recruitment of child soldiers, and murky connections with jihadist networks in the Sahel—these are the deeds that define the Polisario. Testimonies, reports, and evidence are mounting. It was high time a country like the United States acknowledged this reality.
The Algerian Junta: A Paranoid Regime Obsessed with Morocco
Faced with this virtuous momentum, what does the Algerian regime do? It represses, it deceives, it fuels chaos. It prefers to pour billions of petrodollars into a separatist mirage rather than respond to the legitimate aspirations of its own people. It elevates hatred of Morocco to the level of state doctrine, in a desperate attempt to mask its economic collapse, social bankruptcy, and diplomatic isolation. Today, this charade fools no one.
The bill Joe Wilson is preparing to champion in the U.S. Congress is a resounding slap in the face of Algerian diplomacy. It opens a breach that other legislators—and other nations—will undoubtedly follow. Because to designate the Polisario as a terrorist organization is also to name and shame those who arm it, shelter it, train it, and direct it from the shadows: the Algerian regime.
The Winds Are Shifting—In Favor of Truth
Morocco, for its part, continues to move forward, strengthened by its alliances, its stability, and its historical legitimacy over the Sahara. This latest development in Washington is yet another confirmation: the international community is fed up with Algerian-Polisario fabrications and is acknowledging the justice of Morocco’s cause.
It is time for the final illusions to fall. The Polisario is a toxic relic of the Cold War, a destabilizing tool serving a regime that can build nothing more than a sand wall around its own failures. The world is changing, and Algeria must choose: peace or isolation, development or subversion. But one truth remains unshakable: the Sahara is Moroccan. And no lie, no armed group, no petrodollar will ever change that.
