A disinformation campaign as insidious as it is dangerous is unfolding in the shadows against Morocco. Behind it stands Qatar — a gas-rich but loyalty-poor state — which is multiplying indirect attacks on the Kingdom through well-identified proxies: the Muslim Brotherhood’s Islamists in Morocco and their political parties, certain Moroccan Islamo-leftist circles… and above all, the propaganda channel Al Jazeera, now acting as the official mouthpiece of this media offensive.
For several weeks, Al Jazeera — which claims to be a news outlet — has turned into a machine of misinformation, broadcasting false, biased, and often defamatory content aimed at undermining the legitimacy of the Moroccan monarchy, launching direct attacks on King Mohammed VI, and fostering a climate of distrust among public opinion. All this is done under the guise of journalism and the defense of Palestinians in Gaza, when in reality it is nothing more than large-scale manipulation.
Behind this campaign lies a well-known strategy: to destabilize a stable, influential, and sovereign country that refuses to yield to the dictates of a micro-state seeking regional dominance. Morocco, with its progressive vision, its fight against terrorism, its moderate religious model, and its pivotal role in Africa, embodies everything that the proponents of Islamist ideology detest. And it is precisely this that Qatar — an unacknowledged supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood across the Arab world — cannot forgive.
Even worse, this campaign sometimes finds echoes within Morocco itself: certain Islamo-leftist activists, ever ready to betray the homeland under the pretense of activism, serve as useful mouthpieces for a machine hostile to our sovereignty. Be they self-proclaimed NGOs, pseudo-intellectuals, or media figures known for their duplicity, all are complicit in this dark concert.
But the Moroccan people, deeply attached to their institutions, will not be fooled. They recognize the maneuvers of enemies both within and outside the country. They clearly see the malevolent intentions of Doha and its channel Al Jazeera, already notorious for its biased coverage of numerous crises across the Arab world.
Morocco will neither be intimidated nor destabilized. Our King is a red line. Our stability is a priority. Our sovereignty is non-negotiable. And to those who believe they can bend the Kingdom with fake news, media attacks, and treachery, the response is clear: Morocco will defend itself — with firmness, dignity, and loyalty.
