During the meeting, both parties discussed prospects for developing air and maritime connectivity between the two Kingdoms, ways to boost cooperation between national transport companies and logistics platforms, and the exchange of experiences and expertise in areas such as digitalization, road safety, and infrastructure modernization.
In a statement to the press following the meeting, the Saudi Minister emphasized that the discussions covered many topics related to cooperation between the two brotherly nations in the transport and logistics services sectors, coordination of positions within the International Civil Aviation Organization and ways to strengthen collaboration in international forums and promote knowledge sharing.
“We maintain very close cooperation and are working together to strengthen our partnership under the leadership of our two Heads of State, for the benefit of our peoples,” Al-Jasser noted.
He also took the opportunity to commend the progress made by Morocco under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, highlighting the Kingdom’s significant achievements in the transport sector and its ambitious projects, particularly in preparation for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
For his part, Kayouh noted that this high-level meeting was an opportunity to exchange visions and experiences, recalling that Saudi Arabia possesses considerable expertise in rail infrastructure and aviation.
He stressed, in this regard, that the meeting also provided an occasion to review the level of cooperation at both regional and international levels, welcoming the support expressed by the Saudi official — and through him, by ICAO — for Morocco’s candidacy for a seat on the Council of this organization.
Kayouh praised the remarkable progress made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the transport sector, expressing Morocco’s interest in benefiting from Saudi expertise, particularly in the areas of network modernization and digital transformation.
The Minister also reaffirmed Morocco’s commitment to building a strategic, effective, and sustainable partnership with its Saudi counterpart.
Furthermore, the two ministers agreed to establish a Joint Committee composed of officials and experts from both ministries to implement the identified cooperation areas and define a shared roadmap for the execution of mutually beneficial projects.
