Morocco’s Airports Authority Launches Two Tenders for Casablanca’s New Terminal

The two CEIs concern a program manager tasked with supporting ONDA in the overall supervision of the project (terminal building, runways, taxiways, ancillary facilities), and coordinating with all stakeholders in line with international standards.

They also involve a builder or consortium of companies, responsible for detailed engineering and construction of the new terminal, including the integration of third-party-provided airport systems, according to an ONDA press release.

“With the capacity to handle 35 million passengers per year and an estimated investment of MAD 15 billion dirhams (USD 1.6 billion), the next-generation terminal at Mohammed V Airport will take shape by late 2029,” ONDA noted.

The new terminal will add capacity for an additional 20 million passengers annually, reinforcing Casablanca’s position as a key intercontinental hub linking Europe, Africa, and the Americas, while bolstering the growth of Royal Air Maroc as Morocco’s national carrier.

This flagship project is part of ONDA’s “Airports 2030” vision, an ambitious strategy built around smarter, greener, and more connected infrastructure.

The future terminal will incorporate the latest in global aviation technologies, including a streamlined and digitized passenger journey, energy sustainability, climate resilience, and operational excellence.

It will also feature an integrated high-speed rail station, connecting Casablanca Airport to Rabat in 30 minutes and Marrakech in under an hour.

Through this project, Morocco reaffirms its commitment of making air transport a key driver of economic and tourism development.

This landmark initiative will boost the country’s connectivity, stimulate investment and job creation, and help cement its Morocco’s leadership in the global aviation landscape ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2030, which the Kingdom will co-host with Spain and Portugal.
