Green Energy: Chinese Group Aeolon Set to Inaugurate Its First Wind Turbine Blade Factory Outside China in Nador

With an annual production capacity of 750 sets of blades, each measuring 87.5 meters, the factory aims to become a key player in the wind power industry across the Euro-African region. This represents a strategic investment of €220 million, expected to generate 3,300 direct and indirect jobs, thereby contributing to Nador’s economic development and the growth of Morocco’s renewable energy ecosystem.

Designed with sustainability in mind, the facility uses low-impact environmental materials and incorporates a digital energy management system to reduce consumption and optimize performance. Industrial waste will be handled by certified operators, in compliance with existing environmental standards.

Inside the hangars, Moroccan and Chinese workers are busy on the finishing lines, while the outdoor areas are being arranged for logistical storage. This Sino-Moroccan synergy reflects a dynamic and forward-looking industrial cooperation.

The project received approval from the National Investment Commission, recently established under the new Investment Charter implemented in March 2023. It already stands out as one of the most ambitious initiatives of this new era of economic attractiveness for Morocco.

Aeolon’s choice of Morocco is no coincidence: the company was drawn by the country’s political and economic stability, its young and skilled workforce, and its strategic geographic position, which optimizes supply chains to Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

With this new plant, Aeolon takes a major step in its international strategy. The group is not only boosting production capacity to meet growing global demand for wind energy, but is also affirming its commitment to the global energy transition.

This project illustrates Morocco’s ambition to become a green industrial hub and confirms its growing appeal for sustainable technology investments. The Nador plant thus stands as a model of international cooperation serving a cleaner and more resilient energy future.
