Speaking to the press following talks with Moroccan Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch, Mudavadi said the opening of Kenya’s new embassy in Rabat sends a strong and unequivocal message about Nairobi’s intention to deepen bilateral ties. He underscored the historical roots of Kenya-Morocco relations, which date back to 1965.
Expressing his pride in visiting the Kingdom, Mudavadi commended the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and noted that the timing of his visit—coinciding with the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations—underscored its symbolic and strategic significance.
He described his discussions with Moroccan officials as constructive, pointing to areas of mutual interest that could form the basis of strengthened collaboration across multiple sectors.
For his part, Akhannouch welcomed the opening of the Kenyan embassy as a reflection of the two countries’ shared determination to deepen ties across political, economic, and cultural domains.
He highlighted the potential for enhanced business cooperation, noting that stronger bilateral relations could unlock new opportunities for Moroccan investors looking to expand into Kenya, while also boosting trade flows between the two nations.
