In the statement read out by the representative of Kuwait on behalf also of the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Sultanate of Oman, and Qatar, the GCC countries reiterated “the importance of the special strategic partnership between the Council and the Kingdom of Morocco and of implementing the joint action plan, as well as the positions of the GCC and its steadfast decisions in support of the Moroccanness of the Sahara and the preservation of Morocco’s security, stability, and territorial integrity”.
The GCC further welcomed the latest UN Security Council resolution on the Moroccan Sahara.
The GCC States also commended the continued efforts exerted under the supervision of the UN Secretary-General and his Personal Envoy to the Moroccan Sahara, calling for the resumption of dialogue in a spirit of seriousness, realism and mutual respect under the auspices of the United Nations.
