Morocco’s Lower House Speaker Holds Talks with Members of Bureau of Forum of Chairpersons of Foreign Affairs Committees of African Parliaments

According to a statement from the House of Representatives, Talbi Alami emphasized the importance of establishing this parliamentary Forum, which marks a new phase of coordination, cooperation, and constructive dialogue among the legislative institutions of the African continent. 

He welcomed the holding of the Bureau’s meeting, describing it as part of a dynamic of constructive continuity.

The meeting was also an opportunity to discuss key challenges facing Africa that are considered priorities on the agenda of joint parliamentary action, namely security, peace, climate, energy, food security, migration, and development.

For her part, Salma Benaziz, Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs, National Defense, Islamic Affairs, Migration, and Moroccan Expatriates Committee of the House of Representatives, presented the preparations for the next session of the Forum, which will take place in Morocco next year.

She also outlined the steps toward finalizing the Forum’s structure, the working mechanisms to be adopted, and the methods of coordination between the different members.
