Morocco’s Minister Delegate in Charge of National Defense Administration Receives Ethiopian Defense Minister

As part of the consolidation and diversification of bilateral cooperation between the two countries, a cooperation military agreement was signed in the presence of Lieutenant General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces and Commander of the South Zone, according to a statement by the National Defense Administration. 

The agreement covers cooperation in the fields of training, exercises, scientific research and military health, as well as the exchange of experience and expertise in various areas of common interest. It also provides for the creation of a joint military commission, which will meet alternately in Rabat and Addis Ababa.

The two Defense Ministers reviewed the various aspects of bilateral cooperation and the ways of further strengthening it in areas of common interest. They also underlined the positive and constructive role of both countries in maintaining stability, security and peace on the African continent, the statement continues.

The meeting was also an opportunity to highlight the various South-South cooperation and regional integration initiatives launched under the leadership of His Majesty the King, making Morocco a dynamic player in shared stability and prosperity for the benefit of the African continent.

At the close of the meeting, both officials voiced their shared ambition to bolster these relations through the implementation of the cooperation military agreement signed earlier, as well as regular visit exchanges of officials from both countries.
