San Salvador: Mohamed Ould Errachid Highlights Prospects for Integrated Cooperation Between Morocco and Central American Countries

Speaking on Tuesday at the Economic Forum on Investment and Development, organized by the Central American Parliament (Parlacen) in partnership with the House of Councillors, Ould Errachid noted that the Kingdom, which serves as a gateway to the Atlantic and Latin American space, places strong importance on regional solidarity and co-development.

He added that this gathering represents an opportunity to engage in constructive dialogue aimed at strengthening cooperative ties between both sides and exchanging perspectives to boost investment dynamics and overall economic growth.

The President of the House of Councillors went on to outline the key pillars of Morocco’s development model, which places the human being at the center of priorities and is based on building an integrated economic fabric, consolidating the foundations of a social state, and promoting investment and innovation.

This vision of integrated development has led to the creation of advanced industrial platforms in high value-added sectors such as automotive, aeronautics, new technologies, fertilizers, and biotechnology, he stated.

Ould Errachid also highlighted the Royal vision to enhance Africa’s sovereignty through major infrastructure projects, food security, public health, and manufacturing industries, including the Nigeria-Morocco gas pipeline and the Atlantic Africa Initiative.

He also cited the Dakhla Atlantic Port as a key pillar of this forward-looking development strategy, noting that this strategic project is designed to provide direct maritime connectivity between Africa and Latin America, including Central America.

He concluded by stating that Morocco aspires to build an integrated African Atlantic space that would strengthen its position within global trade chains.

Ould Errachid is leading a parliamentary delegation to the sessions of this economic forum, which coincides with the tenth anniversary of the Moroccan Parliament’s accession to the regional organization as a permanent observer member.

The delegation includes the Third Vice President of the House of Councillors, Jaouad El Hilali; the House Secretaries Abderrahmane Ouafa and Mustafa Moucharik; the House’s representative to Parlacen, Ahmed Lakhrif; Secretary General El Assad Zerouali; Chief of Staff of the House President, Mansour Lambarki; and Director of External Relations and Communication, Saad Ghazi.
