In Brussels, Nasser Bourita Strengthens the Morocco–EU Strategic Partnership During High-Level Meeting with Kaja Kallas

This high-level meeting provided an opportunity to reaffirm the depth and strength of the strategic partnership between Morocco and the EU, rooted in a shared vision of stability, prosperity, and co-development. Both officials welcomed the progress made in various areas of cooperation, notably in security, trade, energy transition, and the joint fight against common challenges such as terrorism, irregular migration, and climate change.

Mr. Bourita and Ms. Kallas also exchanged views on major regional and international issues of common interest, including the situation in the Sahel, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East. They stressed the importance of close coordination between Rabat and Brussels in addressing today’s geopolitical challenges, guided by a spirit of shared responsibility and open dialogue.

The Moroccan Foreign Minister reiterated Morocco’s steadfast commitment, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to a pragmatic, inclusive multilateralism that respects sovereignty. He also emphasized the need for a balanced European approach in its relations with the Kingdom, in full respect of mutual interests and core principles.

For her part, Ms. Kallas commended Morocco’s central role as a credible and structuring partner in the region, reaffirming the EU’s determination to continue strengthening this exemplary relationship through concrete and ambitious initiatives.

This meeting marks a new step in the consolidation of a strategic partnership based on trust, transparency, and converging interests between Morocco and the European Union.
