In a diplomatic sequence that reflects Morocco’s growing prestige on the international stage, Mr. Bourita successively received four new ambassadors who presented him with copies of their Letters of Credence as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassadors accredited to His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
The first audience was granted to His Excellency Mr. Alberto Castro Joo, newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Peru. This solemn gesture marks a new stage in the South-South cooperation that binds Morocco to this Latin American nation, with growing exchanges in the economic, educational and diplomatic fields.
Mr. Bourita then welcomed His Excellency Mr. José Filipe, the new representative of the Republic of Angola. This meeting falls within the African dynamic driven by the Kingdom under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, as part of a strategic partnership and active solidarity among countries of the Global South.
The third reception was that of His Excellency Mr. Pasquale Salzano, appointed Ambassador of the Italian Republic. As a founding member of the European Union and a long-standing partner of Morocco, Italy maintains rich and multi-faceted relations with the Kingdom. The arrival of this new ambassador paves the way for a deepening of bilateral cooperation, particularly in economic, security and cultural matters.
Finally, Mr. Nasser Bourita received His Excellency Mr. Hayder Shiya Albarrak, newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq. This appointment comes at a time of renewed Arab-Moroccan relations, in which Rabat plays a role of balance and mediation that is appreciated at the regional level.
These four official audiences reflect the international recognition Morocco enjoys as a stable, credible and influential player in the community of nations. They also highlight the ongoing commitment of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, under the leadership of Mr. Nasser Bourita, to making Moroccan diplomacy a powerful tool in the service of peace, cooperation and shared development.
