Morocco, Ghana Launch New Phase of Strategic Partnership – Morocco’s Ambassador to Ghana

 

Since Ghana’s announcement recognizing the autonomy plan as the only realistic and sustainable basis for a mutually acceptable solution to the Sahara issue, the partnership between the two countries has reached a new level, Ambassador Ouaadil noted during a reception hosted by the Moroccan Embassy in Accra to mark the Glorious Throne Day.

The diplomat highlighted the recent signing of a visa waiver agreement for Ghanaian nationals, noting that this measure has already enabled the issuance of over 1,300 electronic travel authorizations, nearly matching the 1,500 visas granted throughout 2024.

She also emphasized Morocco’s recent donation of 2,000 tons of fertilizers to Ghana, reaffirming the Kingdom’s commitment to strengthening agricultural cooperation with African countries and supporting them in consolidating food security.

Under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Morocco has emerged as a modern and prosperous nation, she added, underlining the far-reaching impact of comprehensive reforms that have spanned the entire national territory from Tangier to Lagouira.

She further highlighted the Kingdom’s major and transformative achievements under the Sovereign’s leadership over the past 26 years, which have brought profound changes in the economic, social, cultural, and sports sectors.

Morocco’s Ambassor to Ghana also reiterated Morocco’s dedication to promoting African solidarity and regional integration, citing flagship initiatives such as the Royal Initiative to facilitate Sahel countries’ access to the Atlantic Ocean, the Atlantic African States Process, and the transformative African Atlantic gas pipeline project.

In a message delivered on behalf of Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama, Minister of Youth and Sports Kofi Adams hailed the strong and lasting relations between Ghana and Morocco, describing Morocco as a “reliable and trustworthy partner,” and commended the remarkable progress made in strengthening this partnership over the past 26 years.
