Two Suspected Daesh Supporters Arrested in Spain with DGST Assistance

The suspects, aged 24 and 26, were detained in Vallfogona de Balaguer, in northeastern Spain, for their alleged involvement in consuming and distributing terrorist propaganda and inciting violent acts, the police said in a statement.

The investigation, launched a year and a half ago, revealed that one of the suspects, already known to Spanish security services, showed a high level of radicalization and played an active role in spreading extremist content as well as recruiting with the aim of preparing terrorist attacks, the same source added.

Both men were brought before Central Court of Instruction No. 1, which ordered the main suspect to be placed in pre-trial detention.

The arrests took place on Thursday during a police operation that also led to the seizure of various computer equipment, now under forensic examination, the statement concluded.
