This major event brought together 56 African officials representing 17 countries across the continent, alongside several strategic regional and international partners including the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), the African Union (AU), the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the East African Community (EAC), and the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD).
Discussions focused on key topics such as rationalizing security spending, curbing budget waste, strengthening transparency and accountability, and ensuring that resource allocation is aligned with national strategic objectives. Participants also stressed the importance of strategic planning, the development of effective security policies, and stronger regional cooperation to address cross-border threats such as terrorism, irregular migration, and organized crime.
The conclusions of the workshop underlined that unifying regional efforts and making rational use of available resources remain the surest way to meet security challenges and promote stability and sustainable development in Africa.
This initiative once again highlights Morocco’s leading role as a central actor for security and stability on the continent, reaffirming its steadfast commitment to strengthening regional and international cooperation in the face of common challenges.
