Gianni Infantino Begins a Working Day at the Mohammed VI Football Complex and FIFA’s New Headquarters in Rabat

Upon his arrival, the head of world football visited the Mohammed VI Football Complex, regarded as one of Africa’s finest sporting facilities. There, he took part in a training workshop for women coaches, organized under a flagship FIFA program aimed at equipping female technicians with the skills needed to strengthen their expertise and drive the growth of women’s football across the continent.

In a statement shared by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Infantino praised “Morocco, a great country of football and hospitality,” highlighting the outstanding quality of its infrastructure and its central role in advancing the development of the game in Africa.

Beyond this training initiative, Infantino held a series of high-level meetings with several African federation presidents, including those of Senegal, Rwanda, South Sudan, Gabon and Tunisia. Discussions focused on key priorities such as the professionalization of local competitions, improvement of infrastructure, and strengthening youth development programs.

“I had constructive discussions today with several African leaders to jointly define the pathways that will allow African football to shine even brighter on the international stage,” Infantino stated.

This working visit reflects FIFA’s ambition to strengthen its presence in Africa and reaffirm its commitment to supporting member federations. It also underscores Morocco’s role as a strategic hub for the promotion and growth of African football.
